Our
Story

A Little Bit About Us

Maryse has lived in Crouch End for over 20 years and worked with clay for almost as long, so it made sense for her to set up a pottery school on the doorstep of the community she loves.

With a teaching background in Montessori here and in the US, she has always loved sharing knowledge and watching students get excited about progressing with their craft which is still a big thrill for her.

Faye also has a background in teaching combined with a masterful flare for creating beautiful hand-built ceramics, which makes her an invaluable presence in the CLAYHOUSE.

Together Faye and Maryse have created a space to forget about the outside world and be present in a warm, friendly and nurturing studio space.

What We Do

_______________

We offer classes of 4, 8 or 12 weeks taught by our experienced, talented and (let’s face it) gorgeous teachers who come from all kinds of clay backgrounds, united at the Clayhouse by their love of what they do.

Important things to know about our courses, workshops and Have A Go sessions.

*Tools and towels are provided as well as a cuppa and a biscuit but please bring your own apron. If you’d prefer, we have CLAYHOUSE aprons for sale which you can purchase at the beginning of the course.

*You should not miss the first or final class.

*If you miss 1 class on an 8 week course OR 2 classes on a 12 week course, we will try and fit you into another class to make up the time. However, please appreciate that the classes are all quite full and we may not be able to accommodate this.

*You should not miss any of a 4 or 6 week course.

*Refunds - we cannot issue refunds 2 weeks before the start date of any course and 72 hours before any Drop In or Have A Go session.

*All finished pieces should be collected within 4 weeks after your last session.

*If you make more than you can glaze on a course, you should book onto a glaze workshop to finish your pieces. Otherwise you will be asked to take your pieces with you.
